Once in a while I can’t help but stray from the usual tax topics. ¬† After all, even accountants get tired of taxes, believe it or not.
I’ve been using the Scotia Info Alerts since it came out back in December, and I think it’s a great idea. ¬†You can register online using online banking, or you can register over the phone if you want. ¬†At specified intervals, ScotiaBank will send you an update for your account balance, the last 5 transactions on your account, etc. ¬†You can choose from a large variety of different options. ¬†You can have them sent to your email, or as a text message to your cell phone.
It’s a great way to keep on top of things, especially if you are on the go a lot. ¬†There is a fee for this service, but you can try it out for free until May 2010.
I haven’t checked but I’m sure there are other banks that offer this same service. ¬†I am using ScotiaBank as an example since that’s the bank I’m most familiar with.Filed under: Other tips by David Boese No Comments »
